The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) attempts to provide the most accurate data possible through use of this database. Although significant effort has been made to minimize errors, the MDA gives no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of this data at any given moment of user access. This is because the information contained in this data is dynamic and may change over time as pesticide registrants and licensed agricultural pesticide dealers provide new or corrected data. If the Department finds an error in the reporting, the Department makes every effort to correct the error with the most accurate information. In certain cases, the Department may need to estimate the data based on past history. It is the responsibility of the data user to use the data appropriately and consistently within these limitations. This disclaimer applies both to individual use of the data and aggregate use with other data.

The MDA shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained within this web site, or the consequences of such use. This data and related graphics are not legal documents and are not intended to be used as such.

The MDA does not favor one person or company over another and any references herein to any organizations, specific commercial products, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not constitute or imply its endorsement or recommendation by the MDA.

The MDA provides pesticide sales and use information to the public via the Pesticide Sales database. The searchable sales database provides calculations for total pounds of pesticide active ingredients contained in products that were reported as being sold in Minnesota. This information is based on an electronic conversion and may not be all-inclusive. This data summarizes information reported to the Department of Agriculture on annual pesticide sales in Minnesota.

Care must be used when interpreting this data. Sales data for all crop chemicals are available from 1996 to present, and for non-crop pesticide categories from 2006 to present. Pesticides sold in Minnesota may not be used in the same year they are sold, or in some cases may never be used in Minnesota. However, sales data provide a general indication of long-term pesticide use trends.
