Minnesota Agricultural Statistics Service and National Agricultural Statistics Service

The Minnesota Agricultural Statistics Service (MASS), a division of the MDA, in conjunction with the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), conducts periodic surveys of major crop producers that collect information on pesticide use and use rates. Survey respondents are randomly selected, and the reported results are based on advanced standardized statistical analyses conducted by NASS nationwide. The MDA also works cooperatively with MASS/NASS to conduct specialized pesticide use surveys.

National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy

The National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy (NCFAP) is a non-profit research organization with a variety of programs, including research on pesticide use. The NCFAP published several papers synthesizing pesticide use information in 1997 and a comparison of changes in pesticide use during a 5-year period from 1992-1997. In conjunction with these publications, the organization developed a NCFAP pesticide use database that can be searched by state, crop and pesticide.
