Cover crops are one of the most accessible practices for growers looking to incorporate soil health principles into their operations. For this project the Minnesota Office of Soil Health partnered with Wenk, and the Freshwater Society to develop Minnesota-specific resources to support the adoption of cover crops and help growers achieve success.

The resources can be found on the Minnesota Office for Soil Health (MOSH), Minnesota cover crop research webpage. Visit the main page or select the direct links to specific resources below:

  • Local cover crop help: Interactive map allows you to select a county to find Soil and Water Conservation District contact information and their experience.
  • Maps of cover crop use: Three maps illustrate the percentage of agricultural land with cover crop growth, one map illustrates the average annual acres of cover crops funded by government programs
  • Minnesota cover crop research: Research information from Minnesota and neighboring states is summarized and interpreted by cover crop. Find a crop description, management needs, benefits, economics, and future research needs.
