The Thirteen Moons Fond du Lac Tribal College Extension Program is proud to host the 2023 Gichi Manidoo Giizis Traditional Pow Wow on January 13th and 14th, 2023 at the Black Bear Casino and Hotel-Otter Creek Event Center.
This pow wow celebrates taking care of the land and community.
The mission of the 2023 Gichi Manidoo Giizis Traditional Pow Wow is to bring together community members and federal, tribal, and state organizations to learn from one another about how we take care of the land and community. Representatives from organizations will be available to answer questions and provide information on sustainable agriculture, natural resources programs for land owners, and education and career opportunities through college and university programs. In addition, those representatives will learn from community member’s the traditions of the Anishinaabe culture, language and best practices of taking care of the land and community

Join the comprehensive education program as part of the 2023 Minnesota Fruit & Vegetable Expo. The event will include a keynote and growers panel on agritourism, and a Welcome Reception, and two days of education and networking opportunities along with a trade show.
This is the Sustainable Farming Association's flagship event for farmer-to-farmer education and networking. Session topics are centered on boosting both farm sustainability and profitability. Tickets typically sell out, with more than 300 farmers, agriculture professionals, aspiring growers, homesteaders, and local foods supporters in attendance.
The Governor's Food Safety and Defense Task Force has continuously met since 1990 to discuss issues affecting Minnesota's food system. The Task Force is composed of seventeen members, ten of whom are appointed by the Governor's office, representing food regulatory agencies, agricultural industries, food related non-profit associations, and the University of Minnesota. Meetings of the Task Force are held every other month and are open to anyone interested.
Task force meetings are held in conformance with Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.015, upcoming meetings of the FSDTF have been scheduled and will be offered in-person with video-conference phone-in options.
The next meeting will be on January 17, 2023, at the Orville L. Freeman Building in St. Paul, MN.
