Here are some common questions about the GFAP Technical Assistance Grant. If you have questions that are not addressed here or in the Request for Proposals (RFP), email them to MDA.AGRIGrants@state.mn.us with "GFAP Technical Assistance Questions" in the subject line. We will post all questions and answers on this page.
Q. Do you have to live in the state of Minnesota to apply for the GFAP Technical Assistance grant?
A. The agency applying for the grant doesn’t need to be in Minnesota, however, the proposed project and the retailers served by the project need to be in Minnesota. This is noted on page four of the RFP where it states that project must be conducted within Minnesota.
Q. We are a farmers’ market and would like to provide technical assistance to our vendors. Are we eligible for the Technical Assistance grant?
A. GFAP Technical Assistance grants are intended for technical assistance providers who will then offer technical assistance to eligible grocery stores and other small food retailers. In this scenario, the farmers’ market would be a candidate to receive technical assistance, not to receive a GFAP Technical Assistance grant.
